Christians: Do not commit ';ADULTERY';. Was this commandment ever nailed to the cross?

Does this Commandment only apply to the Jewish people today? What about Christians and everybody else in the world?Christians: Do not commit ';ADULTERY';. Was this commandment ever nailed to the cross?
%26gt;%26gt; Christians: Do not commit ';ADULTERY';. Was this

%26gt;%26gt; commandment ever nailed to the cross?

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽None of God's Law was ever nailed to the Cross or otherwise abolished. The only thing nailed to the Cross was the written record of our sins (Deut. 31:28-29) -- because He paid the Price (2Tim. 1:8-10).

%26gt;%26gt; Does this Commandment only apply to the Jewish people

%26gt;%26gt; today? What about Christians and everybody else in the

%26gt;%26gt; world?

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽All of God's Law still applies to all people -- believer and non-believer alike. The Final Judgment is still based upon God's Law. That cannot be changed. The only reason true followers of Christ are not subject to the Final Judgment is because Jesus Christ already paid the Price for our violations of God's Law.

God bless.

Fireball:

%26gt;%26gt; all commands are still in force but sunday is allowed for

%26gt;%26gt; Christians to keep now...

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Who allowed this? Not God. Not Christ. Not Paul. Not Peter. You dare ignore God's Commandment to keep the Seventh-day (Saturday) Sabbath holy? Good luck with that.

God bless.

Alicia:

%26gt;%26gt; Yes, it applies to everybody. Jesus said the two greatest

%26gt;%26gt; commandments were to love the Lord and to love your

%26gt;%26gt; neighbor (neighbor = people). To commit adultery is to

%26gt;%26gt; violate the latter.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽...and to desecrate the Seventh-day (Saturday) Sabbath is to violate the former.

God bless.Christians: Do not commit ';ADULTERY';. Was this commandment ever nailed to the cross?
is there any commandment or law in christianity?

if there is, please tell me one.
Yeah it applies to Christians and Jesus took it a step further and said don't commit adultery even in your mind or your heart.
None of the Commandments were ';nailed to the cross';. If committing adultery is violating the love your neighbor as yourself law, what is forgetting the Sabbath violating? Sabbath is the only one that starts with Remember, and it's the first one the Sunday worshipers forgot. The first four of the 10 commandments all had to do with loving God. Sabbath was not just for the Jews...if you read the Bible you will know that the Gentiles also kept the Sabbath. Adam and Eve kept the Sabbath too!
If you look at the simplified commandments it's basically this:

Love God above all, and do unto others as they would do unto you. That actually covers all the commandments.

After all, would you like your spouse to cheat? Well no, so the second part applies.

The ';New Commandment'; covers all contingencies, its elegantly simple.
It is a commandment that Christians try to live by...people who do not believe in God...I doubt follow our commandments that is why they want to get rid of them...you see if there are no rules you cannot be a sinner...if you are not a sinner you don't need a savior, Jesus...if there is no God or heaven than ';why try to be good';...there is no hell no consequences...it is a great illusion satan has going...
Ever hear of the Spirit of the law? If one has the love of God in them ( His Spirit) would he go about committing acts that are self-centered in nature, and show no love for others?

Or are you insisting on making the accusation that Christians who have the Spirit of God in them would go about committing adultery because they believe there is no written code telling them not to?

.
Yes it was for the Jews.

Christians have new commandments.

REad Mat 5:-

You have heard it being said ';thou shalt not commit adultery, but i say unto you if you look at a woman with lust, you've had it'; (my version).
The commandment? No the penalty and guilt of all who break that commandment YES!!! IHS Jim
The command against adultery is repeated in the Christian Greek scriptures so yes, it's still considered a sin.
Jesus said he did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. He just made it so that we are not a slave to the law. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't follow it. All throughout the new testament it talks about sexual sin being detestable and Jesus clarified the idea of the adultery law by saying something like ';you have heard it said 'thou shall not commit adultery' but I say if you look at a woman with lust you have already committed adultery in your heart';

so yah it applies to everyone since Jesus came to be the Lord of everyone.
Christians just don`t believe in the old testament. If they did they would live completely diferent lives..Instead of the sex rules ok mentality..!!
I know where you are going with this question, very good point. of course ALL of the 10 commandments apply to all Christians. Pease be with you.
Is there any command or law in Christianity?

If there is please tel me one.
It applies to all of us. Adultery is sinful.
No commandments were nailed to the cross.

Only the penalty for breaking the commandments was nailed to the cross. If my brothers and sisters in messiah would learn a little of history and the jargon of the time they could get past this silly false doctrine and the enemy (people like you being used by Satan) would have no opening for an attack.

Fireball, That is heresy and you have no scriptural reference to back up such a claim. NONE.
This whole ';nailed to the cross'; thing is so utterly misunderstood. What was nailed to the cross if you study the scriptures honestly is the penalty that the Law required for our sins. There is so much evidence in the NT that the Law is still valid and in force for a believer in Yeshua that it is plain that it takes a call and revealiing from the Creator God to understand it.

Hogie: So, the ';Spirit'; of the Law, by which you show love towards neighbor prevents you from committing adultery. How come that same ';Spirit'; of the Law prevents you from showing love to the Creator God by keeping HIS SABBATH?

Learn to worship in spirit and in truth, Hogie.

Fireball: Don't know exactly what cult you used to belong to that kept the Sabbath, I suspect that you, Hogie and I were all in that ';cult';. Because some people get unbalanced and start holding up some human leader as something that he was not, does not deny the basic truth of his message.

If it is who I think it is, look at the world around you and go back and compare it to what he taught about prophecy. You need to read 1 John 2:4, as does Hogie, and really think about what it says.
';Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.'; (Mt. 5:17) As far as Christians are concerned, Jesus was (and IS) all the laws that ever are, were and is to be, yesterday, today and tomorrow. When he hung on the cross, every law, every rule, every ';thou shalt'; and ';thou shalt not'; hung on the cross with him.
Yes, it applies to everybody. Jesus said the two greatest commandments were to love the Lord and to love your neighbor (neighbor = people). To commit adultery is to violate the latter.
Gal 5:14 says that all the law if fulfilled in this commandment ';...thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself'; so not commiting adultery is implicit within this commandment for Christians too.
all commands are still in force but sunday is allowed for Christians to keep now....we arent jewish..

thats why we all need repentance..
