Christians - were the 10 Commandments nailed to the cross along with Jesus?

Colossians 2:14

14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

Are the ';handwriting of requirements'; the 10 Commandments which were written in stone, or are they the civil and ceremonial laws that Governed Israel?

Which, if any, of the 10 Commandments are we no longer required to obey?

1 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

2 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.

3 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain

4 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

5 Honour thy father and thy mother.

6 Thou shalt not kill.

7 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8 Thou shalt not steal.

9 Thou shalt not lie.

10 Thou shalt not covet.Christians - were the 10 Commandments nailed to the cross along with Jesus?
God never changes. None of the 10 commandments were nailed to the cross. I always understood the ceremonial laws to be nailed to the cross. God wrote the commandments in stone with His own fingers. But according to the world the 4th Commandment, the only one that starts with the word REMEMBER is the only one that people think was nailed to the cross.Christians - were the 10 Commandments nailed to the cross along with Jesus?
Colossians is where Paul was addressing both Jewish and Gentile Christians, and he uses terms that both would understand. The Jew understood this to be the law; the old covenant. It ended upon the death of Christ, even as a marriage covenant ends upon the death of either party. All the covenant, and not just some of it. It is seen as symbolically nailed to the cross, ending with the party of the first part.
Romans 13:8-9 (NASB) 8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled {the} law. 9 For this, ';YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET,'; and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, ';YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.';
The only things nailed to the cross was Jesus and a sign above his head which read INRI. The meaning and translation of this sign (placed there by the romans sarcastically) is ';Jesus of Nazarith, King of the Jews';.
get rid of 1 and 2 also 3 not to mention 4, the rest civil law takes care of, except covert, I'm coveting a new Mac as I type.

what's that little lamb doing in your icon clip, he's gonna get eaten, your some sick puppy.
the sacrificial laws and requirements were nailed to the cross as Christ is our sacrificial Lamb.

the Ten Commandments are written in stone and are valid today and forever.
I always thought that meant the penalty for not being able to keep God's laws. Jesus took the punishment for this and for ALL our sins. But this certainly does not mean that we can now sin because Jesus took the penalty for us. Neither does it mean we don't have to follow God's moral laws.
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

People may still have their holy day of the week, but it's not akin to killing, stealing, lying, etc... to do some work on it.
Not at all. They are a schoolmaster to lead us to the cross.

1John 3:4 says that sin is transgression of the law.

Paul said in Romans 7:7.. I had not known sin but by the law.

Psalm 19:7 reads...The law of the Lord is perfect at converting the sou.....%26gt;
Our sin was nailed to the cross %26amp; the curse taken away in Messiah

Y'shua.
who said you could pick and choose?
NOT AT ALL.

God's Commandments are for the GOOD of Mankind.

The ';Handwritten'; ordinances that ';were against us';, as shown in verse 22, are the illicitly-imposed ';Add-ons'; by the Pharisees and other FALSE teachers who took what God said and added their own twists to it.

For example, God says to Keep His SABBATH Day HOLY. The Pharisees then added that a person could walk only so many steps on the Sabbath, and that you could not light a candle on the Sabbath, etc, etc. That's why Jesus damned them ~ just as He damns the false preachers of today.

Such Idiotic Evil still exists in the so-called ';christian'; churches of today. GOD'S Sabbath is NOT Sunday ~ never was, and never will be. But the immoral Christianistas have changed GOD'S Day into THEIR OWN way, and they twist and tweak the Bible to make it say what they want it to say, in order to justify the tremendous amount of Evils THEY choose to do.

Refusing to see that Christ says to FEAR God (Luke 12:5), KEEP The Commandments (Matt. 19:17; John 14:15), OBEY The Law (Luke 10:26), HEAR Moses and the Prophets (Luke 16:29), and CEASE FROM SIN (John 8:11) ~ the Swine-eating ';christians'; of today call Sunday ';the lords day';, in Blatant Disregard for what God and Christ Plainly Say...

They illicitly manipulate the New Testament to justify their eating of ';ABOMINABLE'; SWINE ~ yet they condemn Homos to Hell for ';THEIR'; Abomination ? ! ? Get for REAL... No wonder ';christianity'; is the JOKE of the world.

They don't even know which ';lord'; they serve (please read 1 John 3:4-10).

And then they have the gall to BLAME IT ON CHRIST ~ because He was supposedly ';resurrected on a Sunday'; ~ as if that has anything to do with KEEPING GOD'S SABBATH.

It's Total Insanity ~ But That's The American Way...

Christianistas...

Thank God For HELL...

.
The ten commandments have come to human being in different words by all messengers of God who were given holy books.

From Adam, to Noah, to Ibrahim, Moses and Jesus (peace be upon them), people made adjustments to the original message (specially the first commandment to worship only one God without keeping partners with Him).

Jesus came not to abolish law of previous prophets, but to fullfil it.

Jeus said the doctrine he is preaching is not his, but of God who sent him.... He clearly worship God, and called one and only God as ONLY one worthy of worship.

May God let everyone search for truth and find HIM.

God is not cruel to send us to earth and test us without a clear, unchanged, and true message available on earth.

Todays' christians beliefs like trinity, respect to gays rights, adultry etc are proof that true message of God was lost in original, and in practice, until God sent His last messenger Mohammad (pbuh) and revealed all true stories of previous prophets. Gave a clear guideline to human beings to follow a life to earn paradise. Provided dozens of scientific proofs for intelligent, which are being discovered until this century.

The only book which has not been changed to the extent of even one word is Quran. Worth a read.

Offcouse there are solid reasons why priests, ministers and harvard educated people of divinity are reverting to original message of Moses and Jesus.

GOD IS ONE, HE HAS NO PARTERNS, NO SON, NO FATHER, NO DAUGHTER, NO MOTHER. HE IS THE CREATOR NOT A CREATION.
Yes and I am glad you read the Bible for yourself and came to that conclusion, but the fact is most of those comandments were carried over into the New Testament as well and had an even better understanding Ex:';thou shalt not comit adultery'; people actually thought the act of intercourse was commiting adultery but Christ came along and taught whoever looks upon a woman/man with lust in their hearts commits adultery. The old law kept the Sabbath day, and that was taken away and the Lords day took it's place (Sunday) this is when all Christians came together to worship in the New Testament. Think about it if we were still under the old law we would still be sacrificing animals, the Jews would still be God's chosen people, along with other things so to make a long story short the Old law served it's purpose and the New law was made for Christians. Also read Mar 2:21 %26amp; Hbr 8:13.

Most importantly read Rom 3:4. Continue to search the scriptures my friend.
How can the commandments of the Torah which give His people ';life'; possibly be ';against and contrary'; to us as stated in Colossians.

Deu 30:19 ';I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you *life* and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,

Deu 30:20 by loving YHVH your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for *this is your life*

Mat 19:17 And He said to him, ';Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to *enter into life, keep the commandments*.';

I believe it is the ';empty deception'; and the ';tradition of men'; that are contrary and against us nailed to the stake:

Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.
The Law was complete with Jesus on the cross. So we don't observe any of those by law.

Love God with all your heart and sould

and love your neighbors as yourself

by this is fullfilled all the law and the prophets

Matthew 22: 37 Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’[d] 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Our new motivation is love.

Obedience.....from love or duty?

No. We are no longer subject to the law of sin and death.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 8:
The answer to your question is confusing to many. Christians believe in doing the 'works' that God has ordained for us to do. We do not boast of these 'works' Rather, we give all Praise and Glory to Christ Jesus for enabling us to do His 'works'... Our 'works' apart from the direction of God, apart from the Holy Spirit, are meaningless to God, they are but filthy rags before Him. The 'Key' is who is given honor for the 'works' we do. First we are found righteous because we heard and believed, not because of what we had done. Works cannot lead us to God, faith leads us to God and 'works' come about through faith and obedience to Gods Word.

Give God the Glory for the 'works' He enables us to perform in order to further His kingdom.

Many misunderstand and say that Christianity is void of 'works'

When actually, Christianity is void of human 'works' and prefers to carry out the 'works' of Christ Jesus through the Holy Spirit.

The difference is 'Flesh' verses ';Spirit'

If God is putting it on your heart to take care of the elderly, yet you choose to work in a soup kitchen, you dishonor God and His blessings will not be upon you or your ministry. They both may be good deeds, but God only acknowledges the good deeds He has prepared for each one of us to do, in order to further His kingdom on this earth.

Works do not lead to salvation, they are the results of salvation.
I know that I'm still not allowed to covet my neighbor's áss. Which is a shame, because he's got a bloody nice one.
