Truth or tradition? The Law given to Moses at Sinai was nailed to the cross and abolished.?

INCORRECT . jESUS FREED US FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW WHICH IS DEATH. Jesus said that not one jot or stroke of the law will be abolished untill all things are accomplished.Truth or tradition? The Law given to Moses at Sinai was nailed to the cross and abolished.?
The laws given in the Old Testament have lapsed. In the King James version of the New Testament it was either the Apostle Paul or the Apostle James who wrote, ';...but now there comes (or shines) forth from (or of) God a new righteousness that is not of the law...';

If you were able to read that passage in the original Hebrew it would read, ';...but now there comes (or shines) forth from (or of) God a new righteousness that is not of the Torah...';

Under the Old Testament there was no forgiveness of sins. By performing the proper sacrifice one could ';roll'; their sins forward for a year but not be forgiven of them. But under the New Testament law, after Christ shed His blood on the cross and washed away all the past and present sins of mankind it established a way for ALL people (not just the Hebrews) to be forgiven of their sins.

The Torah is the first five books of the Old Testament that set forth the laws which the Hebrews were to adhere to. The New Testament did away with the laws of the Old Testament.Truth or tradition? The Law given to Moses at Sinai was nailed to the cross and abolished.?
Colosians 2: 13聽';Furthermore, though YOU were dead in YOUR trespasses and in the uncircumcised state of YOUR flesh, [God] made YOU alive together with him. He kindly forgave us all our trespasses 14聽and blotted out the handwritten document against us, which consisted of decrees and which was in opposition to us; and He has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the torture stake. ';

The Law was fulfilled and the curse of the Law ';taken out of the way'; by means of Christ's shed blood.
Jesus did not come to destroy the law. The law will be used to judge. Those who live by the law will be judged by the law. Those who repent of their sins and believe in Jesus Christ are saved by grace and will not be judged by the law but will be judged by their works. Performing work for Jesus does not get you into heaven that is accomplished thru grace least any man boast. But faith without works is dead so if you dont work for Christ then you will be judged as an unbeliever.
Why is it important to you to annilate Judasim?

You do your thing, and we'll do ours. The laws still stand -- for us Jews. But don't for anyone else.

Or are you announcing anti-semtism. Routed in Christian need to get rid of Judaism because it's so gosh darn embarressing that we rejected the supposedly jewish messiah.

Please stop it. This isn't the bedrock of Christian values any longer.

ERIC -

the golden rule is a paraphrase of Rabbi Hillel from Talmud ';do not do unto others what is hateful to yourself'; and ';The Torah is about being kind to others -- the rest is commentary.';
My sins were nailed to the cross and abolished....

He who knew no sin became sin for me that I might become the righteousness of God!!!!!

The law was given to show men He could not obey it (if you transgress one part you are guilty of transgressing the entire law) .

Jesus came to set us free from the bondage and penalty of sin.

Truth
complete fiction!

what was nailed to the cross were all the additions to the torah added over the years in contradiction to the command in deuteronomy to not add or diminish from what was commanded...
false.

Christ said we are to still remember the laws of Moses but a new covenant was made by His death and resurrection. That whosoever believes in Him will not be bound to the OT. We no longer have to make daily sacrifices because Christ came, He was the Perfect sacrifice......no others needed because standing next to Christ even the most perfect lamb is blemished....no comparison.........

CHRIST DIED ONCE......FOR ALL.. no repeats needed...
Let me rephrase that. It was abolished in the sense that it was fulfilled through Christ. Therefore, it serves no further purpose. And yes, that includes the Sabbath.
Tradition! This is like saying Moses did not exist, because, if

the Law has been nailed to the cross, what was the point of

giving it %26amp; saying it was a satute for ALL time?
The Law was not abolished at the cross, it was fulfilled at the cross
It was accomplished and full filled and brought to fruition. Christianity is based upon the Old Testament.
No - Jesus reaffirmed the law of the Old Testament, but added the Golden Rule.
Jesus was not nailed to a cross.
Neither. Jesus says he came to fulfill the law of Moses, not abolish it.
Truth. We're not under the law, we're under grace...through Christ Jesus.
tradition of men.

I might

point out that these are New Testament scriptures and they need no

interpretation by men, for they speak clearly to those who can see.

Mt 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is

none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life,

keep the commandments.

Lu 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the

commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is

that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father,

and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even

as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Rom 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish

without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by

the law;

Rom 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but

the doers of the law shall be justified.

Rom 2:25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law:

but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made

uncircumcision.

Rom 2:26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of

the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?

1co 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but

the keeping of the commandments of God.

Rom 2:27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it

fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost

transgress the law?

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid:

yea, we establish the law.

Rom 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and

just, and good.

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal,

sold under sin.

Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the

law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin

which is in my members.

Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the

mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of

sin.

Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not

subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

1jo 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his

commandments.

1jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments,

is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1jo 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep

his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

1jo 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we

love God, and keep his commandments.

1jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments:

and his commandments are not grievous.

2jo 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This

is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye

should walk in it.

Re 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep

the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Re 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may

have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates

into the city.
