Was being nailed to a cross really a sacrifice?

If Jesus was God, then the two men on either side of him were suffering much more than him on the cross. Jesus would have known without doubt there was an after life. He would of not had any fear whatsoever. No suffering.

The two guys next to him didn't know for sure there was a heaven. They must of been scared that their life was about to end.Was being nailed to a cross really a sacrifice?
No it wasn't a sarifice. HUMAN (child) sacrifice was never acceptable to God. We learned that from the near-sacrifice of Isaac. Human sacrifice was practiced by surrounding cultures, but NEVER by the Israelites. Regardless of what you may read, blood sacrifice was never necessary for the atonement of sin.

.Was being nailed to a cross really a sacrifice?
Of course it was a real sacrifice,Jesus had a fully human life like the rest of us and had to give that life up while in His prime regardless of the fact that He would rise from the dead again.

Many faithful people have laid down their lives in imitation of Christ for the good of others but this has not made it easy or without suffering.
It was Jesus sacrificing Himself for our sins.. He gave up His life willingly (He has power over life and death so they could not kill Him.. He HAD to let go of His life.. and trust in God the Father for resurrection)...

Jesus had a body with feelings just like those of the men beside Him...

Hmmm.. do you remember reading about all the sacrifices that were made in the old testament? Those were all in simultude of the one made by Jesus.. His own life given up for OUR sins...

If He had no doubts.. then why ';Father why have you abandoned me?'; (paraphrase) question?
The sacrafice theory only started in the last thousand years
yes it was a sacrifice.

Think about it, how many people do you know that would be willing to give up their life for yours?
you speak as do the those whom John the babtist rebuked saying you generation of viper's who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come, bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentence.how dare you speak such evil against the Holy Son of God;after he bled and died for all the evil you yourself has done, have you ever drops great drops of blood striving aganist sin.no you have not,you have given in to sin after sin after sin,and then to speak of him in this fashion is reproach to everything that he did.if you don't shake yourself and get rid of that attitude ,which is the spirit of anti christ, you will most defenltly will know and feel the wrath of the lamb of God himself.God does not hate you he loves you that is why he died for you ,when have you ever died for your worst emeny?you need to repent of this and i wouldn't waist no time doing it either.may you find forgivenes that only he can give.
Yes is was the PERFECT sacrifice, %26amp; Jesus was NOT God, He was The Son of God, God is a spirit, How can someone make slashers in his body, God is a spirit, %26amp; never was a body.
It's just a rather nasty fairy tale dear.
Except none of this ever happened, exactly.
Yes it was a sacrifice. Jesus wab being obedient to the Father's orders to take on all the sins of humanity, die on the cross, so that we may be reconciled with God.
Perhaps you should give it a try and see how much pain and suffering is involved.
That is why God sent his Son amount us as a man with all that involves including the pain, the fear and the doubts, he has lower himself at our level to better reach us. How much of a sacrifice would it have been if he had sent his son in all his glory protected by angels and insensitive to pain.
Luke 23:39And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

40But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

41And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

42And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

43And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

[verses taken from kjv]

one did saw JESUS as LORD and ask JESUS to remember him.

Isaiah 53:3[kjv]He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:7[kjv]He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Luke 22:42Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

43And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

44And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Galatians 3:13[kjv]Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

He suffered for everyone. He suffered for you too.Have u recieved him?Are u saved?

John 3:16[kjv] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

so when we believe in JESUS we have eternal life.JESUS lived a sinless life and gave up his life as a sacrifice so we can be sin free. Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with his blood.

With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.JESUS loves u and wants u to be saved.
Very good point. And there is no evidence to support even the existence of Jesus.
Jesus was at that point a man, and he would have felt the pain and suffering that the other two did, but yes, he would have at least had hope. Read the account of the crucifixion or watch Mel Gibsons movie ';The Passion'; and then ask if you think he suffered. God sent his son to earth knowing that he would be sacrificed on behalf of all mankind to give us all a hope of everlasting life. Can you imagine sending a child to a death like that? Both God and Jesus suffered for us.

If you study the Bible, you will realize that although Jesus used miracles to heal others from pain and suffering, he didn't use them on himself, so yes, that pain was real.

All of us with a hope of everlasting life have the same hope that Jesus had. Those other ';two guys'; are sort of like the people who have not yet found that peace in knowing God wants us to live on. Which one are you like?
You try being beat and then nailed to a cross. Its gonna hurt.
Being rest assured is one thing being in agony is another. If you read back, he was in a body of flesh and he cried in the garden of Gethsemane, Lord why have you forsaken me. In my belief Gods glory came off of him so that he could go to the cross for one you can't kill god and two god is sinless so he couldn't take on the sin of the world in that form, so the glory left him he cried out and made his way to the cross knowing that is what he was destined for. He was God but a portion was lifted off. I could be wrong, but it is the only thing that I have heard that makes sense so far.
Do you fancy a claw in your palm?
The suffering was not a fear of wondering if there is an afterlife.

The suffering was prior to the cross...the torture beyond human endurance, the carrying of the cross, the humiliation, and then the death sentence of a criminal and sinner placed on a purely divine, innocent man.

The two other men being crucified knew they had done wrong and deserved their punishment. Christ had done no wrong but willing gave his life and suffered our torment, out of love. He endured our punishment.
