Since it was Romans who nailed Jesus to the cross, I'd think the blame (or the credit, hehe) lies with Vulcan (Roman counterpart of Hefaistos, or something).

I think this is sacrilegious. Being nailed to a cross is no game, and Thor was a mythological god from the Norwegian countries. His hammer was magical, as well.
