When Jesus鈥?corpse was nailed to the cross, did any birds peck at his eyeballs?

First of all it was not his ';corpse';, it was his beaten and bruised LIVE body that was nailed to that cross. There were Roman soldiers, mourners, family, friends and His Mother at the foot of the cross watching Him die. When Jesus said, ';I thirst';, they lifted up a sponge on a long pole moistened with vinegar for Him to wet His mouth. There were no birds pecking as his eyes nor would there have been since the animals senses are much keener than ours and they are smarter that most of us . They would have sensed he was not one to peck on. You know what I mean. First of all, his ';corpse'; wasn't nailed to the cross. He was alive. If you are referring to after he died on the cross....well, why would you even think of something so horrendous?When Jesus鈥?corpse was nailed to the cross, did any birds peck at his eyeballs?
Probably not. It was a hurried affair, what with sundown fast approaching. They stuck him to see if he was dead, and then took him down. No time for bird pecking.
He wasn't left nailed to the torture stake. He was taken down from it the same day he was put up.
