I believe that he actually died from a terrible accident while showering in his bathroom. Instead of a crucifix I wear soap on a rope.
The Romans either broke the legs of their crucified victims or stabbed them to kill them quicker-not out of humanity but just so that they wouldn't have to wait around for hours or even days because a healthy victim could take two days to die, so it is possibly true that Jesus was stabbed by a spear.
