Do you believe that the Law given to Moses was no longer in effect or was nailed to the cross?

When Jesus died and lived again, believers should live by faith, and the Law intended for the Jews became abolished...why do denominations insist that the Law is still in effect, for example ..like keeping the Sabbath as Saturday or Sunday...?Do you believe that the Law given to Moses was no longer in effect or was nailed to the cross?
Jesus fulfilled many of the prophecies of the Old Testament. Old Testament Law had to do with rules for living and punishment for failing to obey those rules. The Old Testament Law also had the rules for how to seek God’s forgiveness through sacrifices of animals – the shedding of blood.

Jesus fulfilled that law in at least two ways. The first is that he became our sacrifice and shed his own sinless blood on our behalf. He forever did away with the need for sacrificing animals. He offered himself once for all for the sins of all mankind (Hebrews 7:27, 9:12, 26, 28, 10:10, 1 Peter 3:18). It can be argued that everything was fulfilled just before Jesus’ death on the cross when he uttered his last words, “It is finished!” (John 19:30). Jesus had fulfilled his redemptive purpose as God’s sacrificial lamb. He had become God’s sacrifice for sin.

The second way he fulfilled the law is that he taught and commanded what God’s will is under the New Covenant for those who would enter the Kingdom of God. He gave a new set of rules to us. Paul called those rules Christ’s law. Some of those were the same as God gave in the Old Testament law. Many were changed, but most of Old Testament law was not included at all in Christ’s law.

Paul told the Romans that “Christ is the end of the law . . .” (Romans 10:4). The footnote in the NIV Study Bible points out that the word “end” (telos) can mean either (1) “termination,” “cessation,” or (2) “goal,” “culmination,” or “fulfillment” and suggests it is better to understand it in its latter sense, as fulfillment of the law.

As further corroboration that we – New Testament believers – are not under the law, Paul said that Jesus abolished the law through his sacrifice on the cross:For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations (Ephesians 2:14-15).Do you believe that the Law given to Moses was no longer in effect or was nailed to the cross?
Some laws, such as dietary laws are no longer in effect. Some others, such as the Ten Commandments are still to be observed. After all, you wouldn't want ';You shall not murder.'; to be lifted, would you?
Conservative Christians will tell you that Jesus's death did away with Mosaic law, but they still want the ten commandants on the Court house steps.
No, we are in the age of grace. As for why denominations still think the law is in effect, for example forbidding the eating of certain meats. You will find your answer in first Timothy 4:1-5
Matt. 5: 17

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Pretty straight forward, I would say.
No!

If you truly look in your Bible in the New Testament; you will see they're still in effect. Let's look what it says about the law in Psalms 119:142; it tells us ';thy law is the truth.'; Let's go in the New Testament now. We will talk about Saturday and Sunday too throughout passages.

MATT.5:17-19 = ';THINK NOT THAT I AM COME TO DESTROY THE LAW, OR THE PROPHETS: I AM NOT COME TO DESTROY, BUT TO FULFIL. FOR VERILY I SAY TO YOU, TILL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS, ONE JOT OR ONE TITTLE SHALL IN NO WISE PASS FROM THE LAW, TILL ALL BE FULFILLED. WHOSOEVER THEREFORE SHALL BREAK ONE OF THESE COMMANDMENTS, AND SHALL TEACH MEN SO, HE SHALL BE CALLED THE LEAST IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN: BUT WHOSOEVER SHALL DO AND TEACH THEM, THE SAME SHALL BE CALLED GREAT IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.';

Notes:

Sabbath is Saturday according to Bible, Encyclopedias, dictionaries, calendar and etc. (it is still valid today)

Sunday=sun god; look at encyclopedia under Sunday; it's pagan.

MATT.15:9 = ';BUT IN VAIN THEY DO WORSHIP ME, TEACHING THE COMMANDMENTS OF MEN.';

MARK 7:7 = ';HOWBEIT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING FOR DOCTRINES THE COMMANDMENTS OF MEN.';

1TIM.1:7 = ';DESIRING TO BE TEACHERS OF THE LAW; UNDERSTANDING NEITHER WHAT THEY SAY, NOR WHEREOF THEY AFFIRM.';

JOHN 4:22-24 = ';YE WORSHIP YE NOT KNOW WHAT: WE KNOW WHAT WE WORSHIP FOR SALVATION IS OF THE JEWS. (note: Jews keep Saturday--Sabbath holy; not Sunday)BUT THE HOUR COMETH, AND NOW IS, WHEN THE TRUE WORSHIPPERS SHALL WORSHIP THE FATHER IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH: FOR THE FATHER SEEKETH SUCH TO WORSHIP HIM. GOD IS A SPIRIT: AND THEY THAT WORSHIP HIM MUST WORSHIP HIM IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH.';

Jesus talking to the Jews in JOHN 7:19

';DID NOT MOSES GIVE YOU THE LAW, AND YET NONE OF YOU KEEPETH THE LAW?...';

Now according to your Bible; wasn't Jesus a Jew? The answer would be yes; so my question is ';Don't we suppose to follow Jesus's footsteps?';

JOHN 14:6 = ';JESUS SAID UNTO HIM, I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE; NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER, BUT BY ME.';

COL.2:6 = ';AS YE HAVE THEREFORE RECEIVED CHRIST JESUS THE LORD, SO WALK YE IN HIM.';

1PET.2:21 = ';FOR EVEN HEREUNTO WERE YE CALLED: BECAUSE CHRIST ALSO SUFFERED FOR US, LEAVING US AN EXAMPLE, THAT WE SHOULD FOLLOW HIS STEPS.';

Jesus talking about the commandments in:

JOHN 14:15 = ';IF YE LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.';

JOHN 14:21 = ';HE THAT HATH MY COMMANDMENTS, AND KEEPETH THEM, HE IT IS THAT LOVETH ME: AND HE THAT LOVETH ME SHALL BE LOVED OF MY FATHER, AND I WILL LOVE HIM, AND WILL MANIFEST MYSELF TO HIM.';

JOHN 15:10 = ';IF YE KEE[P MY COMMANDMENTS, YE SHALL ABIDE IN MY LOVE; EVEN AS I HAVE KEPT MY FATHER'S COMMANDMENTS, AND ABIDE IN HIS LOVE.';

Now let's see if the Catholics know when the seventh day is.

';Ques.--Which is the Sabbath day?

';Ans.--Saturday is the Sabbath day.

';Ques.--Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?

';Ans.--We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.';--Peter Geiermann, The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1946 ed.), p.50. Geiermann received the ';apostolic blessing'; of Pope Pius x on his labors, Jan.25,1910. [bible readings pg.194]

';The Catholic Church...by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday.';--The Catholic Mirror, official organ of Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893.

';Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act...And the act is a Mark of her ecclesiastical authority in religious things.'; ---H.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons.

The Anti-Christ is the ';lawless one';; the ';man of sin'; which ';opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped...'; 2Thess.2:3-4

{note: if you seen the Zorro movie or some films; you will know that they have confession booths to forgive their sins to the Pope. Why does the Pope forgive sins when the Bible says only God alone can forgive sins?(1Jn.1:9; Psalms 25:18; Luke 23:34)}

DANIEL 7:25 tells us ';HE SHALL SPEAK GREAT WORDS AGAINST THE MOST HIGH, AND SHALL WEAR OUT THE SAINTS OF THE MOST HIGH, AND THINK TO CHANGE TIMES AND LAWS...';

ROM.1:25 = ';WHO CHANGED THE TRUTH OF GOD INTO A LIE, AND WORSHIPPED AND SERVED THE CREATURE MORE THAN THE CREATOR, WHO IS BLESSED FOR EVER. AMEN.';

--------------------------------------…

Now continuing back:

ROM.3:31 = ';DO WE THEN MAKE VOID THE LAW THROUGH FAITH? GOD FORBID: YEA, WE ESTABLISH THE LAW.';

The 4th commandment is talked about in MARK 2:27-28; ACTS 13:44; ACTS 16:13; ACTS 17:2; HEB.3:18-19; 4:1-11; 2PET.2:21; REV.14:7.

JAMES 1:25 = ';BUT WHOSO LOOKETH INTO THE PERFECT LAW OF LIBERTY, AND CONTINUETH THEREIN, HE BEING NOT A FORGETFUL HEARER, BUT A DOER OF THE WORK, THIS MAN SHALL BE BLESSED IN HIS DEED.';

1JOHN 2:3-4 = ';AND HEREBY WE DO KNOW THAT WE KNOW HIM, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. HE THAT SAITH, I KNOW HIM, AND KEEPETH NOT HIS COMMANDMENTS, IS A LIAR, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM.';

1JOHN 3:24 = ';AND HE THAT KEEPETH HIS COMMANDMENTS DWELLETH IN HIM, AND HE IN HIM. AND HEREBY WE KNOW THAT HE ABIDETH IN US, BY THE SPIRIT HE HATH GIVEN US.';

REV.14:12 = ';HERE IS THE PATIENCE OF THE SAINTS: HERE ARE THEY THAT KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, AND THE FAITH OF JESUS.';

REV.22:14 = ';BLESSED ARE THEY THAT DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, THAT THEY MAY HAVE RIGHT TO THE TREE OF LIFE, AND MAY ENTER IN THROUGH THE GATES INTO THE CITY.';

**************************************…

As for the two new commandments; they weren't really new.

MATT.22:36 = ';MASTER, WHICH IS THE GREAT COMMANDMENT IN THE LAW.';

MATT.22:37-40 = ';JESUS SAID UNTO HIM, THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY MIND. THIS IS THE FIRST AND GREAT COMMANDMENT. (this talks about the first 4 commandments pertaining to God)

AND THE SECOND IS LIKE UNTO IT, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF. (the last 6 pertain how you treat your neighbor as thyself) ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS.';

**************************************…

Why do people think the ';law is done away with especially the Sabbath and Sabbath days by quoting Colossians and Ephesians; do they know this passage? They really don't. Here is what it means:

Now about Colossians and Ephesians

http://community.webshots.com/photo/8062…

Many people confuse these with the Seventh Day Sabbath and Sabbath Feast Days.

The Laws Contained in Ordinances = Eph.2:15 %26amp; Col.2:15

**It seems that most believe these two texts are saying that the Sabbath and/or Sabbath Feasts are done away with. Let me ask you a question: who wrote these books; wasn't it Paul? Paul kept the Sabbath (Acts 17:2) %26amp; Sabbath Feasts (Rom.5:11) like Jesus; then these texts must not be talking about that, when the Bible says to follow Jesus (Col.2:6) and the Apostles (Eph.2:20). If you believe the Bible is inspired (2Tim.3:16) %26amp; is the truth (John 17:17); continue on!

**If everyone read the Bible clearly on these matters like Jesus did; then they're wouldn't be false interpetations! The Bible says in Colossians 2:16-17 ';Let no man therefore judge you....which are a shadow of things to come'; inwhich Jesus showed openly.

It explains some of these ordinances in Colossians 2:20-22 ';Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?';

Now Hebrews 9:9-13 explains it more!

See: Heb.9:10 ';Which stood only in meats and drinks, and diverse washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.';

The other part to this about ';judging on the Sabbath,...etc.'; are in:

Mark 2:23-28; 7:2-23; Luke 13:10-16; 14:1-3 %26amp; John 5:8-10; 7:23-24.

Notice in every matter; the Pharisees thought it was wrong to eat with unwashed hands, to heal on the Sabbath, helping out people/animals on the Sabbath as other things; but Jesus always came back with Bible answers to them! What was actually nailed to the cross was the ';judging of the Sabbath, Sabbath Days and etc'; and the sacrifices/offerings they offered.
What

Keeping the Commandments is all through the New Testiments..
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

The laws were not changed, only that forgiveness was available.
