What does ';the law of moses was nailed to the cross'; mean?

Romans 10:4 -

';For Christ is the end of the Law, so that everyone exercising faith may have righteousness.';

As long as the Law Covenant, the ';law of Moses'; was in effect, it separated off the Jews from the rest of mankind. Christ's sacrifice, his death, removed this separation, this barrier, and allowed all mankind to ';exercise faith'; and ';have righteousness';.

No longer would a person be thought of as righteous by certain works, animal sacrifices, even particular festivals and mode of dress.

Now, faith, attitude, and heart appreciation would have more weight in how a person was viewed in God's eyes.What does ';the law of moses was nailed to the cross'; mean?
It means the law was fulfilled in Christ's sacrifice for you.

And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

Colosians 2:13,14

Blood ordinances and the sabbath (christ became our sabbath for all time)

Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

Circumcision was a blood ordnance.

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
For Christians, it is significant. Before Jesus died on the cross, people had to live and be judged by the law of Moses. When Jesus died on the cross, the law was fulfilled. We are still to live by those Ten Commandments (Jesus told us to love God with everything and to love our neighbor. If you do these things, you won't break the ten commandments), but a Christian who is being led by the Spirit will not be judged by the law because of the forgiveness of sins that comes through true repentance.
The laws of the rituals of animal sacrifice and civil laws pertaining to the Jews were fulfilled when Jesus was nailed to the cross. It means that for Christians believing in Jesus Christ as the Messiah is the only path to God; animal sacrifice for forgiveness and redemption was replaced with the blood of Jesus Christ.

Basically, out with the old covenant and in with the new. The Ten Commandments are God's moral laws-eternal.

@monmichka-LOL- I'm so glad that I'm not the only one that does it sometimes! he-he
First, you have to ask yourself what was the law of Moses? The laws given by the finger of God. Mind you, not the hundreds of laws that the Pharisees tacked on later, but the actual laws God gave and why. What were they all based on? They were formulated out of love and all center on love.

That is why Christ said in Matt 22:36-40, that the two greatest commandments are to love God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. And to love your neighbor as yourself. Then he said in v40 ';On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets'; (NASB). Another translation may make it clearer the (NKJV) says it like this; ';On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.

';Then in John 15:13 Jesus says, ';greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. Then He follows in v14 ';You are My friends if you do as I command you. He commands us to love. He followed that by sacrificing His life for the sins of the world. And, all He asks from us is to love one another and Him, for it. This is the law that was hung on a cross the law of love.
God's people were given strict rules to live by...every aspect of life was told how they should do it.

When Jesus came to earth he fulfilled the law...making it obsolete

when he died it was gone with him.

We are under the law of Love your neighbor as yourself....who is your neighbor? Everyone.
The law of Moses consisted of the ten commandments and almost 600 other laws. These laws ended with Jesus death. These laws were only for the Jews anyway. Not for others. Jesus replaced the Mosaic laws with two. These two were binding on all nations, tribes and tongues. They are as follows. 1. To love Jehovah with all your heart, soul and mind and 2. To love your neighbor as yourself. These two pretty much cover all the old laws anyway.
It's blasphemy basically.

It was the apostate Jew Paul saying the old covenant between the Jewish people and G-d had been made null by the crucifixion of Jesus.

Frankly, a load of bullshit.
That when Jesus was crucified we were able to shake off the old ways (no more 643 rules!).

As the fulfillment of G-d's covenant to reconcile with His people, Jesus' death and resurrection truly set us free. Now we obey two laws: Love G-d with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself.

G-d Bless All Here!
In the Old Testament, Moses was a type and shadow or example of Jesus.

In the New Testament, Jesus was nailed to a cross.
When Jesus died, the old law, the law of Moses, died with him and we are thus under a new law. It's a metaphor.
It means that the law and it's penalty for transgression were fulfilled with Christ's death on the cross...
It means don't do something or else you will end up fighting Goliath in the stomach of a Leviathan like Noah!
It means the law isn't need to be kept anymore. Read the book of hebrews to go deeper bout that.
The law of Moses (the old covenant) ended when Jesus died.
Moses wasn't nailed to a cross.
