Where does the Bible say that Jesus was nailed to the cross?

John 20:25 (KJV) mentions the nail prints in the hands and feet. Otherewise the verbiage is pretty vague.Where does the Bible say that Jesus was nailed to the cross?
Matthew 27:35

';When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots.';

Mark 15:24

';And they crucified him. Dividing up his clothes, they cast lots to see what each would get.';

Mark 15:25

';It was the third hour when they crucified him.';

In all three cases, the English word ';crucified'; is translated from the Greek word ';stauroo'; which means to . . .well . . . crucify. While stauroo has other meanings , it is never used in the bible in any other sense EXCEPT to mean ';crucify';.

We know from OTHER historical records that the Romans most often attached (usually nailed) the victim to a wooden cross bar, then hauled the crossbar up a vertical pole -- a situation making a ';cross';, as it is now represented in Christian literature.

There is also archaeological evidence of this torture. The bones of a victim of crucifixion have been found with the ankle bones STILL NAILED TOGETEHR.Where does the Bible say that Jesus was nailed to the cross?
In the Gideons edition of the bible ( worlds most common ) it does not say Jesus was nailed, only crucified. Though according to english diction, crucifiction is the act of executing somone by the means of nailing the subject to a cross. After all, you dont say '; It's raining water'; do you. You simply say '; It's raining ';.
Matthew Chapter 27

Mark Chapter 15

Luke Chapter 23

John Chapter 19

Especially Luke Chapter 23

The term ';crucified'; , taken from the LATIN (Roman) crucifixio, noun of process from crucifixuso ......... put a person to death by nailing add/or binding to a cross.

So, if you are questioning the method, there is no question.

Crucifiction was an extremely popular means of death/punishment by the Romans.

A person would first be tied into place, then nailed because the weight of the body would rip through the skin/muscle.

Most people died of exposure. Also experts say heart attacks would have taken quite a few due to the stress on the upper body.

In the Bible, the Romans were actually surprise that Jesus had died so quickly.

Crucifiction was usually a very slow painful death.

Just a note, Roman crosses were usually in the shape of an ';X';or a ';T';, not the popular symbol of the cross we use today. they served the same purpose, just the shape was different.
The Bible does not specifically state which method the Romans used in the crucifixion of Christ. Most other sources suppose that they used a crossbar because they nailed an inscription above Jesus' head and that both His hands had been pierced by nails (John 20:25-27). However, this is far from conclusive proof; it cannot be proven how Christ was crucified because the biblical account gives insufficient evidence. Thus, we do not know how to represent properly the stake upon which Jesus died.

Many different version of the bible have variations, depending on which bible you read; Vulgate? Septuagint? King James? Catholic? New American? New Revised Standard? New International? Beck? (they aren鈥檛 the same, you know).

But the account is in John like I said above. The cross really is just a symbol, but the most likely prop used in his crucifixion.
All four gospels pretty clearly indicate that he was crucified--which wasn't a stretch. It was a pretty common punishment for the Romans to administer to criminals who weren't Roman citizens.

Luke 23: %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; 23 But with loud shouts they insistently demanded that he be crucified, and their shouts prevailed. 24 So Pilate decided to grant their demand. 25 He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, the one they asked for, and surrendered Jesus to their will. ... 32 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. 33 When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals鈥攐ne on his right, the other on his left.

Mat 27:35 %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

The procedure took different forms, but there's plenty of evidence that in general, the Romans used nails. (Other forms of crucifixion, employed throughout the ancient world in variation, involved hanging, tying, or skewering).
John 19:16-18 (New International Version)

16Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified.

The Crucifixion

So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. 17Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). 18Here they crucified him, and with him two others鈥攐ne on each side and Jesus in the middle.
there is no such thing as God or anything like that! we came from monkeys. we evolved from monkeys!

the rain made the oceans

the sun created small molecules that then created into sea creatures

the sea creatures then evolved to walk on land then from there they evlolved from other things like birds and tigers and other animals.

and it is scientificly proven that we evlolved from monkeyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

It is historically accurate to say that nails were used to put Him there as this was the custom at the time.

Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Blood would indicate that SOMETHING pierced His skin to cause bleeding.

I hope this helps...as He died there for YOU. Will you believe that what He did was enough to reconcile you to God and ';be reconciled to God YOURSELF?';

Check out these 2 sites.
It says that he was ';nailed to the tree'; in the original context, and then it goes on to say how the curtain of the temple was torn ect. and how Jesus says ';father, why have you forsaken me?';

Try Mark?
The details doesn't actually say that he was nailed. But he did carry a cross. It did say he was crucified
